What a beautiful afternoon we enjoyed for our end of season awards presentation on Sunday 16th September. We were very fortunate to have Kate Moloney, Australian Diamonds and Vixens centre court superstar, there to share her netball journey with us, answer any questions (ably hosted by Glen Harrison) and present the awards.
Kate, as Australia Post One Netball Ambadassor, also presented one very important award to Emily Higgins: one of 8 2018 Australia Post One Netball Community Awards for her dedication to creating a diverse and inclusive netball environment. Congratulations once again to Emily, who not only started the All Abilities Netball Program but also was instrumental in setting up our club in 2015!
In addition, we also heard from our Club President, Nicole McDonald, who presented her inaugural President’s Award to Charlotte Birbeck for her willingness and enthusiasm to take on extra coaching and really be there for our junior players. Nicole is also to be congratulated for all her dedication and hard work, including coaching and receiving her Umpires C Badge this year!
The Committee were congratulated for all they do behind the scenes which was evident in the fantastic afternoon they organised and the great raffle prizes as a fundraiser. Big congrats to all the award winners, but also to all the players, coaches and team managers for all their effort and enthusiasm throughout the year. And a huge thanks to all the parents who give up their Saturday mornings and stand frozen on the sidelines encouraging their kids, ferry them back and forth to training, cut up fruit, score (a great way to quickly learn the rules!) and help at sausage sizzles and the canteen as needed. We love our netball community!
Volunteering benefits everyone, but especially you and the EBVNC. We would love to hear from you if you would like to get more involved.
An important source of funding for the Club comes from corporate sponsors, such as yourself. We would love to hear from you if you would like to get involved in this way.
