The East Brighton Vampires Netball Club are very excited to announce a new sponsorship with hockingstuart Real Estate, Brighton.

This partnership is a wonderful opportunity for the EBVNC, especially given we are still a young club, with 15 Junior and 2 Senior teams, and growing! We are lucky to have two families within the club involved with hockingstuart, who have made great efforts to secure us this sponsorship.

I would like to acknowledge Susan and Rowan Thompson, Directors of hockingstuart, for their support of our club, and Chelsea Cargill, mum to Madi of the U13’s, who has worked hard to establish this partnership.

We couldn't be happier with this partnership and support!

Thank you hockingstuart- we look forward to a successful partnership with you!

Final Newsletter 2017

Tuesday, December 19, 2017

Hello and welcome to the 2018 Netball preseason newsletter from the East Brighton Vampires Netball Club!

We wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Winter Netball season ahead, inform you to the outcomes of the recent AGM committee elections, and give you some dates to lock in for the 2018 Netball season.

Going forward, we will send a notification when new correspondence has been posted to the website to all netball families, and all mail and notifications can be found under the “News” tab on the EBVNC website. Please check this regularly for your netball club updates.

Outgoing President

We very sadly see our EBVNC President, Ebony Boyd, leave us this year. We have been lucky to have her knowledge, passion for the game, and energy as a major driving force behind the establishment and growth of EBVNC over the past few years.

She has coached Vampires and SDNA Rep netball teams, run Rep Ready programs for our girls, whilst maintaining her role as President.

Our children would not have had the opportunity to belong to such a great netball club and train at such a handy location as BPS if it wasn’t for the hard work of Emily Higgins, Kathryn Harby-William and Ebony, who established the EBVNC for us, and Sarah Lazzaro setting up NetSetGo (along with countless other amazing people who have volunteered their time, skills and energy over the years).

In recognition of her efforts Ebony was nominated for the inaugural Jack Brockhoff Foundation SDNA Award for services to the netball community.

In 2018, Ebony will continue to be involved with EBVNC for advice, and will hopefully run ad-hoc coaching workshops for us, and we at EBVNC thank her for her outstanding contribution to the Club over the past few years.

We will miss you Ebony!!

We have several teams that will make the U/13 Finals, with Semi’s starting on Sat 2nd Sept. We will send out fixtures in due course, as even if your daughters team did not get through, we encourage you all to come along and support the girls down there, to show Club spirit.

SDNA Rep Trials
The trials for the SDNA U/13 and U/15 teams will be held on Sunday 3rd, 10th and 17th September.

Actual times for these will be sent out as soon we have them from SDNA.

U/11 trials will be held in November.
Talk to your Coach if you would like advice as to whether your daughter should try out. We encourage as many girls to try as possible, as it is good experience for them.

Rep Ready Program
Ebony is the Rep Program Coordinator at SDNA, and she will be running a Rep Ready Program for ENVNC, with some Rep coaches and players, leading up to the trials.
There are a lot of Clubs wishing they too had an ‘Ebony’ right now!
The dates for these will be:
  • Friday 18th August
  • Friday 25th August
  • Friday 1st Sept
From 4-5.15pm at Brighton Primary School.
Cost is $40, cash payable on the first day. However, we will need you to send me your registration if you would like to attend so that we can work out number of Coaches needed.
This is in invaluable opportunity if your daughter wants to try out.

Registration Day
There will be 2 registration and grading days for teams for Winter season 2018.
  • Saturday 14th October - U/11
  • Saturday 21st October - U/13 and U/15
The sessions will run in the afternoons at Brighton Primary, and times will follow.
We will be asking parents if they would like their daughter to play solely with her friends, or be put in the best team for her ability, which may or may not include her friends.
Further details will follow.

Boys are allowed to play in the U/11 and U/13 competitions in a mixed team, with not more than 2 boys on the court at any time.
There are a couple of Clubs in the SDNA with more boys joining.
If you have a son, or friends son, that is interested, then please let us know, and encourage him to come along and play too.
